Custom Trolleys

Custom Designed & Manufactured Trolleys

McDonnell Enterprises has produced a range of custom projects in response to demand from our clients as an extension of our existing services; utilising the extensive knowledge base and skills sets possessed in-house, and those of our suppliers and associate organisations. These projects have been for client projects, both within Australia and overseas.

In addition to one-off special projects, on a regular basis ME has produced and continues to produce a range of custom designed trolleys for our library and archive clients.

These have been developed in each case after ME has conducted extensive investigation into the client's specific needs - to ensure ME provide the correct solution in terms of function, ergonomics, ease of operation and aesthetics.

For each trolley project ME have identified the clients needs, confirmed those needs with the client, produced a working prototype, and monitored the trials of the prototype before proceeding with a production run.

These include our own Ergolift enclosed trolleys with a spring pantograph mechanism to automatically maintain the top of the load at the ideal loading height (to minimise/eliminate the possibility of back-strain), as well as open sided shelved trolleys for heavier use in storage situations, and special trolleys to suit automated vehicles.

Our trolleys have been designed to have a lower centre of gravity, and that fact together with their castor configuration & set-up ensures our trolleys are easily maneuverable and cope readily with uneven surfaces, ramps, grid floors etc - these factors enhance their compliance with O H & S guidelines and hence means they are favored by insurers.

Whilst our trolleys retain a welded steel frame for strength we incorporate new non-traditional materials such as lightweight aluminium composite materials for the sides, with fabric lined walls and a fabric covered load deck for the protection of fragile books (enclosed trolleys), and durable self healing polyethylene sandwich panels for the shelves and ends (open sided trolleys). Both types of panels are available in a range of colours and so trolleys may be colour-coded as to operator or function, and corporate logos can be engraved into the polyethylene panels or applied through vinyl onto the composite panels to enhance your branding.
